Partner with our HCI MS Program

With strong ties to Silicon Valley and other global innovation ecosystems of industry and nonprofits, the HCI MS program at UCSC empowers students for careers as designers and researchers in a rapidly evolving technological world. Industry and community partners get involved with HCI students and faculty in a variety of ways (see below). We invite you to explore the different ways you can partner with the HCI program, a mutually beneficial experience leading to lasting positive social impact.

Industry-Sponsored Capstone Project

The HCI MS Industry-Sponsored Capstone Project, offered every year, is where student teams of three or four work with one of our corporate or community partners to bring the culmination of their HCI MS experience and the materials learned across all courses within their degree to a real-world partner-defined UX product, service, experience design, or research challenge.

Mentor Coalition Program

The Mentor Coalition is composed of UX and HCI professionals from industry and non-profit organizations who are passionate about mentoring our HCI MS students. We seek a diverse set of professionals from small and big and non-profit and for-profit organizations across different domains.

Partner with Faculty in Computational Media

A number of our faculty, who span both the Silicon Valley and Santa Cruz campus, do research with external organizations in industry and the non-profit sphere. For full details, please see the individual faculty pages at the Computational Media website.
